Engineering work for Today

Buses replace late night trains between Alexandra Palace and Stevenage via Hertford North from Monday 6 to Thursday 9 April

Routes affected:
Great Northern between London Kings Cross and Watton-at-Stone / Hertford North / Stevenage

Engineering work is taking place between Alexandra Palace and Stevenage via Hertford North, closing all lines after 22:00 each night.

Buses will replace trains between Alexandra Palace and Stevenage via Hertford North.

Great Northern stopping services via Welwyn Garden City will be extended to run to / from Stevenage.

No overnight trains at Moorgate from Monday to Friday - finishing Friday 15 May

Between Moorgate and Hertford North / Welwyn Garden City / Watton-at-Stone / Stevenage

Network Rail will be carrying out tunnel maintenance, as well as preparatory work ahead of installing new signalling equipment.

Until Friday 15 May 2020, lines to and from Moorgate will be closed overnight from Monday to Friday.

Each night, Monday to Friday, the work will start at approximately 22:00 finishing at 04:00 the following morning. 

Trains that normally run to / from Moorgate will be diverted to run to / from London Kings Cross.

Valid tickets can be used on London Buses / London Underground services between Moorgate and Finsbury Park.

  • Cambridge North: Lifts out of order

    The lifts will be out of order between platforms 2 & 3 and the exit from now until further notice at Cambridge North station.
    Additional Information:
    This affects Great Northern services towards Ely & Greater Anglia services towards Ely & Liverpool Street. Please speak to station staff for further assistance.

  • St Neots Facilities: Various changes

    At St Neots station, the following issues have been reported:
    The ticket office is closed.
    Ticket Vending Machines are working correctly.
    The station will be staffed normally from now until further notice.
    Additional Information:
    St Neots ticket office will be closed due to technical difficulties with ticket machines . TVM,s are working .

  • Welwyn Garden City: No step free access

    Step free access will be unavailable throughout the station between the platforms and the exit from now until further notice at Welwyn Garden City station.
    Additional Information:
    No step free access between 19:00 and 07:00 until further notice. This affects all Great Northern & Thameslink services which call at Welwyn Garden City between 19:00 and 07:00. Please speak to station staff for further assistance.
