Because youth matters

Thousands of young people rely on us every day to get to their school, activities and meet their friends, but there are countless others who don’t get the opportunities they deserve. We can have a huge impact on their lives by helping to put them on the right track, by supporting:

Youth groups and activities that build their development
Work experience and training opportunities to open doors to a wider demographic
Education to use our trains safely

Pro Direct

We continue our support for young footballers on our Thameslink and Great Northern routes with Pro:Direct Academy.

Red Balloon

We have a long-established relationship with Red Balloon, an educational children’s charity focused on young people who have been bullied to such a degree they can’t stay at school and support its work in a variety of ways.

Prince's Trust

Get into Railways

Thameslink, in partnership with The Prince’s Trust, runs Get into Railways, a programme for young people from difficult backgrounds. 2019 marks the 5th anniversary of this special partnership .

The 18-30 year olds selected for the programme receive free four-week and two-day courses at a training centre on our network.

Go-Learn

We're keen to make sure youngsters stay safe when they travel with us. That’s why we’ve developed Go-Learn, a unique education programme designed to help children and young people improve their knowledge and confidence around public transport.
