Car parking

Parking is usually cheaper at weekends, bank holidays and outside the rush hour during the week.

If you regularly commute from the same station you can save money by booking your parking in advance.

Blue Badge holders can park for free in any of our car parks, and can use any bay except for 20-minute drop-off bays, loading bays, staff bays, and premier bays.

What's happening?

Station car park tariffs have been reviewd. As of 23 May 2023, prices have increased at most car parks across the network.

Why are you doing this?

Income from our car parks helps towards ongoing running and maintenance costs across the network, as well as investment in improvements.

Can I park for less?

We continue to offer season tickets which offer significant discounts. We are also trialling a multi-pass car park ticket at Luton Airport Parkway and Royston, aimed at people parking two or three days a week.

How to pay for parking at a Great Northern station car park

Parking can be paid for by downloading the APCOA Connect App or by calling 0189 526 2122 from your mobile phone when you park.

If you are calling and using the APCOA Connect service for the first time, please call 0189 526 2122.

• When you call you will need to provide the length of your stay and your payment details
• You will then be sent a text, please reply to this text with your vehicle's registration number
• You will then receive a text confirming that your parking is paid

If you are a returning user and have previously registered for connect services in our car parks you can call 0189 526 2122, who will recognise your registered mobile number and offer you the same parking detail previously used, you can change the details if required.

If you have previously registered, you can simply text park followed by your payment card's 3-digit security code and the SMS code for the parking that you require to 078 6000 6000. For further details please visit the APCOA Connect support page.

Ways to pay 

No time to pay for parking at the train station? Pay up to 24 hours later after you first arrived with LatePay, available at all ANPR station car parks. Find out more on the APCOA Connect website.

Park and Go

Park at a Great Northern station and pay in your own time using the Park & Go kiosks

If you travel from Potters Bar station you can park, jump on the train and pay later.

You don’t have to wait by a pay and display machine or go back to the car to display a ticket. Simply enter your details into the kiosk at the car park, and pay with a card or cash before you leave again.

Paying online with your mobile phone

You can pay for parking with your mobile phone once you’ve signed up for an online account.

This will make it easier to pay next time around as your details will be remembered. You can also buy a season ticket if you park at the station a lot.

Electric Vehicle Charging at train stations

Charge points for electric cars are available at Bayford, Hatfield, Palmers Green, Potters Bar, and Watton at Stone stations.

From 4 March 2024, this will be a paid service at 60p per kWh.
