Our award-winning guided tour takes visitors around the site of Britain’s oldest brewer, Shepherd Neame, located in the medieval market town of Faversham, to learn about the ancient art of brewing. The 80-minute tour takes visitors inside the working brewery to see how we produce our quality ales and lagers, and includes a visit to the Old Brewery Store, housed in the old wines and spirits store, which features impressive displays of historic delivery vehicles, a recreated coopers’ workshop and bygone pub signs. It ends back in the Visitor Centre bar with a tutored tasting of Shepherd Neame’s Kentish ales and speciality lagers, such as our 1698 Kentish Ale and First Drop Session IPA, before visitors have the chance to visit the brewery shop.

We are unable to allow visitors younger than 18 years of age to join the tours - this includes babes in arms. We enforce challenge 25 and if you are lucky enough to look under 18yrs of age we will require ID. Appropriate closed in footwear must be worn (no sandals, flip-flops, Crocs, Clogs or Birkenstock style shoes) and no high heels for health and safety reasons. Additionally, as a small portion of the tour route is outside, please wear suitable clothing. Please be aware, several of the Brewery's historic buildings have a number of steep staircases and uneven surfaces. We therefore advise that the tour may be difficult for visitors with mobility issues and is not suitable for wheelchair users. Visitors will need to book in advance by contacting our Tour team at tours@shepherd-neame.co.uk or 01795 542016. Offer cannot be redeemed when booking on the website. Visitors must show a valid rail ticket to claim their offer and pay on the door.
