Getting to the station by taxi

Find out about getting a taxi to Great Northern stations, cab services from our taxi ranks, and what help is available if you’re disabled.

Taxis to and from the station

It’s easy to catch a cab to our stations.

We usually have drop-off and pick-up points with dropped kerbs near the station entrance.

There are also taxi ranks at a lot of our stations.

If you find it hard to get around then it’s worth checking to see if the station has step-free access.

Hiring a taxi

There are phone numbers for local taxis on posters at the station.

Cab drivers using our taxi ranks must offer you an accessible taxi if you ask for one.

You shouldn’t have to wait more than 20 minutes for a taxi from the rank. You could have a longer wait during rush hour or very busy periods.

Help getting to and from the station

We can give you a hand getting to your train from the taxi rank or drop-off point if you’re disabled.

We recommend you book assisted travel beforehand so we can arrange for someone to help.

We can also help you get a taxi if the station you want to travel from doesn’t have step-free access.

The taxi will take you to an accessible station where you can catch your train.
