Terms and Conditions of the Great Northern ‘winning ticket’ Promotion

Terms and Conditions of the Great Northern ‘winning ticket’ Promotion (the “Promotion”) 

1. The Promoter

The Promoter is Thameslink Southern Great Northern Limited (12545324) of Monument Place 24 Monument Street, 1st Floor, London, England, EC3R 8AJ

2. Promotional Period

The Promotion commences at 9am on Friday 17th July 2026 and ends at 9am on Monday 20th July 2026 (Promotional Period). All competition entries received after the Promotional Period are automatically disqualified.

3. Eligible Entrants

To be eligible to participate in the Promotion you must: 

  1. be a resident of the United Kingdom aged 18 years or over;  
  2. have a valid email address to receive the Prize; and 
  3. not be employees of the Promoter, The Royal Horticultural Society, nor a family member dependant, agent or any other person connected with an employee of the Promoter; and 
  4. have an Instagram account, which the @gnrailuk account can send direct messages to 

at the point of participation in the Promotion (Eligible Entrant). 

4. Entry Method

  1. To enter the Promotion and be eligible to win the Prize, the Eligible Entrant must, during the Promotional Period: 
  2. Each Eligible Entrant is limited to one Eligible Entry.  

5. Prize

  1. The prize is a day return for two adults from any Thameslink or Great Northern station, a pair of tickets to RHS Sandringham Flower Show 2026, both to be used on an event day (Prize). 
  2. The Prize is not transferable or exchangeable. 
  3. The Promoter is not liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered (even if caused by negligence) as a result of the Winner accepting and/or using the Prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. 
  4. The Prize is subject to the terms and conditions of The Royal Horticultual Society. The Promoter is not responsible or liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered by any Winner as arising from, or in connection with the Prize or the conduct of The Royal Horticultural Society 

6. Prize Draw

  1. All Eligible Entries will be included in the Prize Draw.  
  2. The Prize Draw will take place via a random draw carried out by a representative of the Promoter by no later than Monday 20th July 2026 (Prize Draw Date). Winning is not contingent on being present at the Prize Draw. 
  3. The first Eligible Entry drawn will be the winner of the Prize (Winner). 

7. Winner Notification

  1. The Winner will be notified by the Promoter within 7 days of the Prize Draw Date. The Winner will be notified in writing by direct message on Instagram from the @gnrailuk account within 24 hours of the Prize Draw. 
  2. The Promoter reserves the right to request verification of the age and identity of the Winner and any other information relevant to entry into or participation in this Promotion. Verification is at the discretion of the Promoter, whose decision is final. 

8. Prize Delivery

The Prize will be delivered to the email address provided by the Winner upon being so  notified by the Promoter. The Promoter shall deliver the Prize to the Winner within 48 hours of the Promoter’s receipt of such email address.

9. Prize Substitution

If the Prize (or any part of the Prize) becomes unavailable for reasons beyond the Promoter’s control, the Promoter may substitute the Prize (or the relevant part of the Prize) with a prize of equal or greater value subject to any contrary direction from a regulatory authority.

10. Redraw

  1. If the Prize remains unclaimed 2 days after the Prize Draw Date, or if the Winner is unable to receive the Prize for any other reason (including but not limited to if the Winner is disqualified or in breach of the Terms), the Promoter may select an alternative Winner via a random draw carried out by the Promoter, subject to the approval of any necessary regulatory authority (Redraw). 
  2. The winner of the Redraw will be notified in the same manner as set out in paragraph 7 above. 

11. Personal Information

  1. Personal information including the Eligible Entrant’s name, Instagram handle and email address will be collected and used for the purpose of conducting this Promotion. This may require disclosure to third parties, including local regulatory authorities and the Promoter’s agents or third-party service providers, for the purpose of conducting the Promotion. Further, the Winner agrees to participate in any and all advertising, prize draw or other commercial activities relating to the prize draw and consents and agrees that their photograph, image, likeness and voice may be used by the Promotor in all related promotional activity in any media without any rights of prior approval or inspection. The winner consents that their personal data will be sent to The Royal Horticultural Society for the purposes of issuing an element of the Prize. (Purpose). By entering this Promotion, Eligible Entrants consent to the use of their personal information for the Purpose.  
  2. Participation in the Promotion is subject to the Promoter’s Privacy Policy and https://www.rhs.org.uk/privacy. The Privacy Policy also provides further information on how the Promoter collects, stores, uses and discloses any personal information and how to contact the Promoter regarding personal information, including to update or withdraw consent for the use of personal information. 

12. General

The Promoter’s decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into, including in the event of a dispute relating to the Terms.  

  1. Entries will be deemed void if illegitimate, forged, manipulated or tampered with in any way. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any individual who is involved in any way in interfering or tampering with the conduct of this Promotion or has breached any of these Terms, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the Promotion. 
  2. These Terms do not exclude, restrict or limit your statutory rights in any way. However, to the maximum extent permitted by law, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability whether arising in tort (including without limitation negligence), contract or otherwise for any personal injury or any other loss or damage (including without limitation loss of opportunity or loss of profits) whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Promotion, including, without limitation: 
    1. any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); 
    2. any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; 
    3. any entry that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; 
    4. any variation in market value to that stated in these Terms; 
    5. incorrect information provided by the Eligible Entrant; 
    6. any circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; 
    7. cancellation or any delay in the commencement of the Promotion;  
    8. disqualification of the Eligible Entrant from participating in the Promotion; 
    9. any tax implications; or 
    10. the Prize. 
  3. No expenses incurred in connection with entry to or participation in the Promotion will be paid. 
  4. If, for any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, this Promotion is not capable of running as planned, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to take any action that may be available to it, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion, unless to do so would be prohibited by law. 
  5. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion or amend these Terms at any time without notice and at any time, including when subject to any directions from a regulatory authority. 
  6. These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and the Promoter and any entrants agree that the Courts of England and Wales, exclusively, shall settle disputes.
