Buses replace late night / early morning trains between Stevenage / Hitchin and Cambridge from Monday 19 to Thursday 22 August

Routes affected:
Great Northern between London Kings Cross and Cambridge Thameslink between Brighton / London Kings Cross and Cambridge

Engineering work is taking place overnight between Hitchin and Cambridge, closing the lines.

From approximately 23:45 on Monday to Thursday evenings buses will replace trains between Stevenage / Hitchin and Cambridge.

Engineering work is taking place overnight between Cambridge and Kings Lynn, closing the line.

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings the 23:09 London Kings Cross to Kings Lynn service will terminate at Cambridge. A replacement bus will operate calling at stations from Cambridge to Kings Lynn.

  • Baldock: Ticket Office Closure

    At Baldock station, the following issues have been reported:
    The ticket office will be closed from now until the end of the day.
    Ticket Vending Machines are working correctly.

  • Cambridge North: Ticket Vending Machine problem

    The ticket vending machines are out of order at Cambridge North station.

  • Hitchin: Lifts out of order

    The lifts will be out of order between Platform 1 and Exit from now until further notice at Hitchin station.
    Additional Information:
    This affects Thameslink and Great Northern services towards London. Please speak to station staff for further assistance.

  • Moorgate: Escalators out of order

    The escalators will be out of order between Street Level and the Northern Line Platforms from now until 30/11/2019 at Moorgate station.
    Additional Information:
    Until late November 2019, there will be a reduced escalator service at Moorgate station.
    The one available escalator will be running up, used to exit the Moorgate line platforms. To reach the Moorgate line platforms from the ticket office, passengers should follow the signage and use the spiral staircase.
    Passengers who have difficulty using the spiral staircase should ask a member of staff for assistance.
    This is while TfL replaces the escalators between the Great Northern platforms and the ticket office one at a time. The station may be busier than normal during busy morning and evening periods.
