From Monday 08 August 2022, the ramped step-free access bridge to the northbound platform (trains towards Treherbert) will be temporarily closed to allow for the new Brook Street footbridge replacement works. The station footbridge will remain open between platforms.

If traveling northbound from Cardiff and unable to use the station footbridge at Ystrad Rhondda Station, please get off the train at Ton Pentre Station. An accessible free bus service will then transport customers back to Ystrad Rhondda Station.

Should any customers need to travel northbound from Ystrad Rhondda Station, the accessible free bus service will collect and transport those customers to Ton Pentre Station.

Please allow 30 minutes extra for your journey.

The station car park will also be temporarily closed, however pedestrian access to the station will be maintained.

The works will take approximately 4 months to complete and will include a new accessible ramped access to the northbound platform.
