Things to do in Biggleswade

While Biggleswade days out can be enjoyed by simply taking a stroll about the town, there are a few spots to visit in the area that are definitely worth your time.

The town’s number one attraction is likely the Shuttleworth Collection, an aeronautical museum considered one of the best in the world thanks to its collection of pristine aircraft dating back over 100 years. Alongside vintage aircraft, you can see a selection of classic bicycles and motorcycles and various agricultural engineering pieces – all based across six aircraft hangars.

Adjacent to the Shuttleworth aerodrome sits the Swiss Garden – a tranquil green alpine-style space with 13 listed structures and a single resident peacock. Perfect for a peaceful stroll, the garden also hosts workshops, activity trials and outdoor theatre throughout the summertime.

For more in the way of enjoying the outdoors, Jordan’s Mill is a historic flour mill surrounded by a number of beautiful gardens ready to be explored. Once you’re finished outside, you can take a tour of the 19th century mill which is free for under-16s.
