Sustaining rural rail lines
Meldreth, Shepreth and Foxton Community Rail Partnership is a partnership of local stakeholders that is aimed at helping to connect the railway with its communities.
Its objectives are based on:
- improving safe and informed access from the local rail stations
- achieving improvements to the environs of the stations and developing opportunities for locals to participate in these
- encouraging multi-modal sustainable transport in all its forms
Where they cover
The partnership serves Meldreth, Shepreth and Foxton, three villages in South Cambridgeshire which have stations on the Great Northern line.
Working together with the community
The partnership brings together a wide range of community stakeholders – Great Northern, district and parish councils, rail user groups, plus local business representatives. Together we are keen to explore projects designed to benefit all aspects of the community around the stations represented.
